At Ataraxia, Senn is at the Shrine, waiting for his new instructor. He's clearly surprised to see that the instructor is a young female, Val Mendoris. Val does a rundown on the Songs to Senn, and he tries to harness the energy of his Song. He passes out as a result and wakes up in Galleous' forge. Galleous informs Senn that he'll resume his training the next day.
Abbigail and Luna walk into the forge, having received Galleous' message from the last episode. Senn and Abbigail both recognize each other from the last time they saw each other. Galleous tells Abbigail that was chosen to be an Enderknight (the first female Enderknight, in fact), and that she must become the Enderqueen. She is given a task to recruit other Enderknights using her Eye of the End, and then must venture to the End to get obsidian armor to become the Enderqueen.
In Felden, Kiyoshi and his troops are able to break into Fort Zuka, with the Necromancers having left. While searching, Lucan encounters Niika, having been brainwashed by the Necrolord. Niika attacks Lucan, nearly killing him, but Kiyoshi intervenes. They fight for a bit, and Niika is forced to retreat. The troops of Felden set up camp at the newly-reclaimed Fort Zuka. Kiyoshi prepares for another battle, as the Necromancers are advancing towards Felden's capital Felora, though he states that the first priority is to evacuate the several hundreds of citizens living there. Kiyoshi has other news too: a Chronicler has been sent from Northwind, and he assigns Lucan to watch over her, inadvertently insulting Lucan in the process. Offended, Lucan engages in a brief tussle with Kiyoshi, which Kiyoshi wins. He then announces that he's going to the other kingdoms for reinforcements.
In Ataraxia, Senn and Val are training. Val uses an Aggressium Song, despite not being allowed to, and Senn and Val talk about Galleous. Val reveals that Galleous doesn't use Songs because many of his brothers and students died in the Great War, and he blames the Songs, especially the Prime Songs, for that.
Igneous and Aren have finally arrived on the K'arthen border, with a wall separating K'arthen and Cydonia. Aren tells Igneous to enter K'arthen via the mountains west of the wall, which is unprotected, and bodes Igneous farewell. Igneous follows Aren's instructions, getting into K'arthen easily. He enters the city of Tartarus.
