We get treated to brief shots: a fight in the snow, a beach, and the Tidesinger fishing. We then see a continuation of the tournament from the first episode, as Ingressus kills three Ardoni masters and is stopped by Achillean before he can kill the fourth master. Lastly, we see the duel from the very end of the first season again.

Zulius and Hadion look shocked as the Deathsinger exits the portal to the present day. Zulius attempts to attack the Deathsinger, but he dodges the attack and kills Zulius, as well as killing Hadion for good measure. The battle goes decisively in the Voltaris' favor, as the Voltaris slaughter the rest of the Ardoni who are left standing. The Deathsinger talks with Tygren and Lucidius, angry that none of his orders have been followed, since the Prime Songs are missing and the Ender dragon eggs have not been found and destroyed. However, he is pleased by the news of the Tidesinger's supposed death.

Six months later, Senn and Galleous are training in Ataraxia. Senn's swordfighting skills have gotten better, but Senn fears he won't get enough to defeat the Voltaris. We then get a brief montage of Senn doing tasks around Ataraxia as part of his training. Amidst another sparring session, Senn asks when he can begin using a Song. Galleous tells Senn to be patient, and Senn quotes one of Thalleous' words on Songs. Galleous suddenly gets a flashback of Thalleous saying those same words and attacking Galleous angrily, to which he decides to end the training session. As he goes back to his home, he takes a look at his papers, eyes widening when he reads one. He asks a mysterious messenger named Merlin to deliver a message, and Merlin replies back.

In Havenshire, a few bandits from the Unyielding Legion are in the middle of a mission when they are attacked by Abbigail, who kills three of them and attacks another, only for one of the bandits to gain the upper hand. Other bandits appear, but Abbigail has an ally on her side-her dragon, Luna, who has grown from the tiny dragonet she was in the end of Season 1. As Luna and Abbigail begin killing bandits, Luna accidentally burns down a barn and one of the bandits flees, but Abbigail has gained something valuable from her hunt: an Eye of the End.

In Felden near Fort Zuka, a battle rages between Felden's army and the undead. Kiyoshi does not want to lose the valuable Fort Zuka. Niika suddenly appears, and tells Kiyoshi and Lucan that if she retrieves the Necrolord's staff, the undead can't be controlled. Kiyoshi is reluctantly forced to defend Niika and guard the fort.

In the city of Meridian in Cydonia, Igneous meets up with Galleous' contact, Aren. Aren is at first reluctant to smuggle Igneous to K'arthen, even when Igneous say that Galleous sent him, but agrees when Igneous offers him some gold.

Merlin, revealed to be a messenger bird, comes up to Abbigail and Luna. Merlin is at first startled by Luna as she attempts to eat him, and tells Abbigail some important information that the audience doesn't get to hear.

In Ataraxia, Galleous reveals to Senn that he has not wielded a Song in two hundred years and will instead give Senn a new mentor so he can learn how to use a Song.

At Fort Zuka, Niika kills several undead and sneaks up on the Necrolord, only for the Necrolord to spot her. Niika panics, and the Necrolord gets closer to her. As the Necrolord raises his staff and is about to attack Niika, the screen cuts to black.
