Bait-and-Switch: The initial scene has us believing that Clary is on Jonathan's side and betrayed Jace and her friends for him, only for "Clary" to be revealed as Lanaia, a shapeshifting Seelie, who knew little of Clary's art interests.
Cover Identity Anomaly: With Clary out of his reach, Jonathan uses Lanaia to shapeshift into her. However, when she misnames an artist Clary would never forget, Jonathan calls her out on that, telling her to "stick to the script".
Revealing Injury: Clary suspects "Jace" to be Jonathan in disguise as he indirectly brings up their relationship. To prove this, Clary hurts herself with a rose's spine, which hurts Jonathan as well.
