With homecoming week on the verge, the school is abuzz. Slater finally gives Bayside a chance to end the losing streak to Valley, Kelly is a contender for homecoming queen, and Zack accidentally invents a potent zit cream that proves to be a big seller. An unforeseen side effect puts a damper on the plans.
Episode Tropes:
- Embarrassing Nickname: Charlie Coburn is better known by his nickname "Craterface Coburn"
- Plot Hole: Zack tries to hide the side effect of the zit cream by dressing Screech as the mascot until he can figure out what to do, but Craterface Coburn is never shown having the side effect.
- Sanity Ball: For the most part, Zack really does nothing unethical this episode. The zit cream was discovered by accident, he tested it and paid his subject, he sold the cream at a reasonable price, and he talks sense into Kelly for how she acted.
- Tempting Fate: Zack is surprised how well his day is turning out, cue Screech discovering the noticeable side effect of their new cream.
- Whatever Happened to the Mouse?: Craterface Coburn is never shown facing the side effects of the cream.
- Wrong Genre Savvy: Slater thinks Zack paid a lookalike of Craterface Coburn to scam them into thinking the cream is legitimate. This is more something Season 3-4 Zack Morris would do.
