At the Fighting Dojo in Saffron City, Ash has a World Coronation match against Bea, one of Galar's Gym Leaders. However, her Grapploct proves to be a tough opponent for Ash's Riolu.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Bea gives a serious one to Ash in their Coronation Match.
- Offscreen Moment of Awesome: Goh's battle to beat the fighting master isn't shown but it is proven he won it based on how he got to have a Hitmonchan.
- The Stoic: Bea is focused on the fight and doesn't react to Ash's more unorthodox strategies.
- Wake-Up Call Boss: Without acknowledging the effort, Bea effortlessly demonstrates to Ash the severity of the task ahead of him, the road to Leon, and becoming the Monarch. She defeats him in a Curb Stomp Battle, leaving him no doubt that he has a long and arduous undertaking ahead of him.
- Wham Episode: Ash loses to Bea, and this is after his battle against Korrina mind you, and it starts a losing streak continuing next episode.
