Jessie, James and Meowth are ordered by Matori to go on holiday, so the trio heads to the Sinnoh Resort Area. However it turns out that is where Ash and Goh are headed for their field assignment. Not only that, it also happens to be where Matori is leading a Team Rocket attack, leaving the trio annoyed at being left out.
Tropes
- Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Downplayed. Ash and Goh head to Sinnoh after hearing about rumors concerning a giant Pokémon that can leap incredibly high in a lake near the Resort Area. Turns out said giant Pokémon is a Magikarp. Unsurprisingly, Goh catches it.
- Vacation Episode: Played with. The Team Rocket trio are ordered by Matori to take a break from their normal duties at Sinnoh's Resort Area. Even after finding out it was mostly a ploy by Matori to keep them out of her Pokémon poaching operation, the trio still seem to enjoy both their beach time and foiling Matori's plans.
