While Flash and his new friends begin traveling to Trottingham City, Flash manages to make his first official capture, a Chickling. The group learns afterwards though that this particular Chickling has not learned to fly yet, so Flash resolves to teach him.
- Big Damn Heroes: Aquana arrives during the battle with Movine, using Water Gun to free Skyler from the webbing he was stuck to. It is then hilariously subverted immediately afterwards when Movine strikes Aquana with Air Slash, cauing it to go flying into the horizon.
- Brutal Honesty: At the end of the chapter when Flash says that Celestia must have wanted Twilight to travel with him so she can learn how to battle, Spike agrees, saying that Twilight kinda sucks at batteling.
- Know-Nothing Know-It-All: Twilight is essentially this. She insits she knows how to battle and has read all about different battle techniques, but when she actually needs to battle she lacks any real experience and Owlicious ends up getting easily beaten by Movine because of it.
