Recap / Pokémon EA 12 Twilight's Egg-Celestia Adventure

Go To

The second activity at Camp Everfree is looking after Pokémon eggs that are due to hatch in just a day or two.

  • Babies Make Everything Better: The second activity at camp is looking after Pokémon Eggs and taking care of the baby Pokémon that hatch from them, with one member of each cabin getting to keep the Pokémon.
  • Excellent Judge of Character: Shortly after hatching, Shine shows to be one of these. She recognizes Twilight's voice from her time as an egg and becomes affectionate toward her, instantly accepting her as her trainer. Later, she hides away from Timber in fear of him, but quickly accepts Flash when he is patient with her and lets her come to him first, allowing him to pet her. This makes sense, considering that one of the official Pokedex entries for Galarian Ponyta claims that it looks into the hearts of others and will hide in fear if it senses evil.
  • Foreshadowing: The campers find claw marks on a tree that Timber claims is a warning left by a territorial Pokémon. We find out more about this territorial Pokémon in the next chapter.
  • Meaningful Name: Twilight decides to name the Galarian Ponyta "Shine" after seeing her horn glow and it reminding her of the way her egg shined as she hatched.
  • Parental Substitute: Twilight essentially becomes this to Shine. When Shine is still in her egg Twilight sings her a lullaby. When she hatches later she recognizes her voice when she sings it again and instantly becomes affectionate toward Twilight, with the rest of the group agreeing that Twilight gets to keep her.
