With the Ninja and Master Wu returning to Ninjago on dragonback, the tides turn in the battle against Emperor Garmadon.
- Book Ends: The series starts with the Ninja at Laughy's, singing The Weekend Whip on karaoke, and ends with Master Wu calling them away from cleanup duties for what they think is another mission, but turns out to be a celebration in their honour, complete with The Fold performing that same song.
- Call-Back: Lloyd uses the Art of the Silent Fist, a method of defeating one's opponent by dodging and tiring them out, first introduced by Sensei Garmadon in Rebooted, as a way to endure against Emperor Garmadon, who grows in power when fought against.
- Vagueness Is Coming: Garmadon, though defeated, warns that he is the only person who can stop "Them." He is not inclined to elaborate on this.
- Victory by Endurance: How Garmadon and the Colossus are ultimately defeated.
