"LAXMas" is the 11th episode of New Girl's fourth season.
The main characters are all flying out of LAX for the holidays: Schmidt and Cece to the greater New York area, Coach to Hawaii, Nick and Winston to Chicago, and Jess to London and Ryan's family. However, an ill-timed storm causes chaos at the airport.
Tropes in this episode:
- Didn't Think This Through: When the friends manage to talk Jess back into flying out to London, Jess worries about getting to her gate on time. Cece says she has an idea, and the scene cuts to what is obviously going to be something awesome — a golf cart! Except an airport golf cart carrying six people is extremely slow, so they just get out and run.
- Dirty Old Man: A wealthy man at the airport lounge makes a pass at Cece.
- Meet the In-Laws: Jess is freaking out about having to meet her boyfriend Ryan's apparently wealthy family.
- "Stuck at the Airport" Plot: A Midwest storm causes a lot of flights to be moved around or cancelled. Jess is mostly unaffected, Schmidt and Cece get moved to a later flight, and Nick and Winston are far down the waitlist for a Chicago flight until Jess pulls some strings.
- Suspiciously Specific Denial: Coach is most definitely not going to go to Detroit to see his young niece! Nope! (He does.)
- This Is for Emphasis, Bitch!: Schmidt includes a "You dirty old bitch!" while telling off the Dirty Old Man at the airport lounge.
