Nick and Jess escape the repercussions of their new relationship by running away to Mexico. Meanwhile, Schmidt is hesitant to break up with Cece and Elizabeth and drags Winston into the mess.
Tropes in this episode:
- Arc Words: The title, "All in", is repeated multiple times throughout the episode. First it is used to show Nick and Jess's exuberance for their relationship, by the end it is used to show that both are willing to make a genuine effort towards it in their real life.
- Armor-Piercing Question: Played for laughs when Winston refuses to accept he's colorblind. Schmidt asks this in all seriousness:Schmidt: Winston, if you think those shoes are brown, what color do you think you are?!
- Colorblind Confusion: Winston turns out to be colorblind, which is played for humor — he can't see his green sneakers as green and has trouble with puzzles. This has never come up before this episode.
- South of the Border: Nick and Jess are in Mexico, which involves piñatas, bribing resort workers, the overarching threat of jail, and beaches.
