During an errand to Sci Lab, Dr. Hikari shows Lan and his friends Cross Fusion, a process of allowing NetNavis to merge with their operator. A new evil in the form of a partnership between evil scientist Dr. Regal and Darkloid ShadeMan attacks Sci Lab by allowing cyber life forms to materialize in the real world.
- Almost Out of Oxygen: Regal and ShadeMan's first attack wave has viruses invade Sci Lab's computer system to trap Lan, Mayl, Dr. Hikari, and another scientist inside a room with the fans turned on to suck out the air.
- Empowered Badass Normal: Lan and MegaMan's first cross fusion attempt leaves them only able to use the mega buster since battle chips must be inserted in the PET before the synchro chip. With that being said, Lan is able to break off BeastMan's nails and defeat him with a charge shot due to the cross fusion increasing MegaMan's power at the cost of Lan's stamina.
- Equipment Upgrade: Starting from this episode, the characters no longer use cables and plugs to jack in their PETs into computer systems as PETs are now wireless.
