Recap / Masters of the Universe: Revelation S1 E9: Hope, For a Destination

Go To

Teela is meditating, trying to use her innate sorcery to contact all of Eternia for help, but finds that she can't quite get it work in frustration. She is in denial of her powers, believing that they should be using science and technology for help, but Andra tells her that Evil-Lyn is blocking off all conventional communications. King Randor and Queen Marlena arrive and encourage Teela, telling her that she was drawn to the Mystic Mountains for a reason, and that the innate magic in the place should help her.

Meanwhile Adam and Skeletor assess their options; with Adam noting that Skeletor seems genuinely terrified of Evil-Lyn. Skeletor admits that while he has never been appose to killing it has always been in service of his goal of ruling, but that with the apex fast approaching Evil-Lyn will use its power to unmake the entire universe. Skeletor tells Adam that they only way to defeat her is to tap into the unbridled power he had before as He-Man but Adam refuses, afraid he might hurt someone like he almost did his father without the Sword to control it. Seeing Teela levitate gives Adam an idea to defeat Evil-Lyn another way, one that requires them to knock on her front door.

At Castle Greyskull Evil-Lyn is communing with her new powers and sees the death of god at the beginning of the universe. She tells Beast Man that with each passing moment she becomes more and more sure of her plan to destroy everything. Beast Man says that people were not meant to see as much of the universe as she is, which causes Evil-Lyn to lash out and mock him. Beast Man sadly notes that she is becoming more like Skeletor which almost results in Evil-Lyn killing him before the sound of a horn distracts them.

It is Adam who, along with Cringer, Skeletor and Panthor, have arrived at the gates of Greyskull. Evil-Lyn, confident in her power, lets them in. Below them however Teela and Andra have sneaked in through the sewers to infiltrate the castle that way. Andra asks if Teela was successfully able to contact the rest of Eternia but Teela is unsure, she briefly felt a connection but it was to tenuous for her to fully grasp. Suddenly they are attacked by members of the Evil Warriors.

Adam and Skeletor stand before Evil-Lyn intending to distract her until help arrives. Adam initially tries to diplomatically talk with her, saying that fighting her now would be pointless, but Lyn has none of it and begins the fight. Adam and Skeletor work together to hold her until Teela is ready.

Meanwhile Teela and Andra take down two of the Evil Warriors that have cornered them but two more come to take their place. Suddenly the Orlax arrives taking those two to the bottom of the sewers. It was released by Duncan who has arrived to help his daughter.

Adam and Skeletor put up a valiant effort against Evil-Lyn, with their teamwork able to hold her back temporarily, but her powers are simply too strong. She blasts them back and kills Panthor when it tries to attack her, with Skeletor screaming that he will kill her for that.

As Teela reunites with Duncan two more Evil Warriors show up to do battle. Andra and Duncan tells Teela they will hold them off while she enters the inner sanctum of Castle Greyskull. Teela, however, isn't sure how she could possibly be the Sorceress and what she is suppose to do. Duncan tells Teela that she is stronger then she knows and that he heard her message as clear as day, just as the rest of Eternia did. Father and daughter embrace with Duncan telling Teela that he is proud to have been her father but it is time for her to become something greater. Teela tells Duncan that there is nothing greater than being his daughter, before running off to the chamber.

Outside of Castle Greyskull, King Randor assess his tropes. He goes to Marlena and tells her that, if he and the rest of the universe are destined to die soon, then he wants to apologize for their separation. Marlena apologizes too and the two embrace. Suddenly in the horizon reinforcements have arrived, Eternian's from the humble to the mighty have gathered in defense of magic.

Teela enters the Castle's inner sanctum, the same one her mother submerged in all those years ago. After the dias transports her to beneath the chamber she sees her mothers astral self being formed. The Sorceress tells Teela that the Tide of Transformation is before her, a mystical spring which will strip her of her mortal self and reform her as a Sorceress. She tells her that the Tide will only work when Teela chooses to give up her mortal life and all the lives within it.

The Sorceress says that, while the Tide transforms you into a sorceress to fulfill a higher calling, no calling is higher then being Teela's mother. Teela however rejects this saying that the Sorceress abandoned her. The Sorceress tells Teela that she has always been with her and points to the mark glowing on her forehead. Teela asks her why she never told her this before and the Sorceress tells her that, to step into the waters, means being tethered to Castle Greyskull and to life a live of isolation. The Sorceress tells her that she can save the entire universe but she has to be strong enough to let the people she loves go.

The fight within Greyskull continues with Adam and Skeletor being beaten down. In order to turn the tide fully Beast Man tells Evil-Lyn to turn him into a Battle Cat like creature to serve as her mount. Evil-Lyn agrees and turns him into a Battle Dog, one that easily overpowers Cringer, though Lyn noticeably looks troubled at seeing the mindless state her most loyal ally is now stuck in.

With the alliance broken Evil-Lyn drags Skeletor to her and he begs not to be killed. Lyn then rants at him for the years of abuse she's suffered by his hands and how, even when she thought she was finally rid of him, he came back to life. Skeletor is incredulous and calls her ungrateful since he rose her from nothing, but she says she gave him everything and he gave nothing back. Realizing that Skeletor keeps coming back from the dead Lyn decided to unmake everything he's sought after, Castle Greyskull, the universe, even herself, all in an effort to deny him anything.

Suddenly Evil-Lyn notices the army outside her gates and muses that the reinforcements are pointless thanks to her power and decides to do battle with an army of her own. Adam and Skeletor question where she could find an army after destroying Preternia when suddenly a shadow encases the ground before the army. Thousands of Shadow Beasts begin poring out heralding the arrival of Scareglow who declares himself and the army of Subternia, to be under service to Dark Lyn.
