Rick's dad decides to do One Last Job before his illness overtakes him, but gets double-crossed. Magnum has to step in and save him while also trying to figure out how to prevent Higgins from being deported.
Tropes:
- A Deadly Affair: When Magnum and Higgins decide to interrogate the deceased Dirty Cop's girlfriend for a lead, it turns out she's harboring the guy that killed him and has feelings for him. She is, however, upset to learn that she could now be charged as an accessory.
- Big Damn Heroes: The very end of the episode has Robin swooping in to solve Higgins' visa issue by giving her control of Robin's Nest.
- Car Fu: The episode's climax has Magnum chase the mastermind across rooftops, then fight on the top of a moving big rig while Higgins gives chase in a car. The battle ends when Higgins passes and swerves in front of the rig, causing its driver to hit the breaks; Magnum is able to hold on while the criminal goes flying and dies instantly upon hitting the pavement.
- Dirty Cop: It seems as though the heist was botched and a security guard was murdered during the job, until investigating phone records reveals that he was an inside man that was killed to tie up loose ends.
- Loophole Abuse: The episode ends with Higgins being given majority control of Robin's Nest, allowing her to take advantage of an obscure law and extend her visa as a business owner.
