While attending a police charity ball, a well-renowned defense attorney is drugged and raped. When the victim claims that her assailant was one of the officers attending the ball, SVU uncovers a network of corrupt lawyers and officers that threaten the reputation of both the victim and Benson herself.
- Protagonist-Centered Morality: A more subtle example but even if it's not outright stated, the episode frequently implies that Nikki Staines deserved to be raped as a form of divine punishment for nothing more than doing her job, providing constitutionally protected legal defense to accused criminals.
