A woman is chased into traffic by a gossip journalist. He is cleared of wrongdoing, but shortly afterwards he is shot. The woman's husband confesses to the murder but claims he was justified because the journalist was going to publicize information that would hurt his daughter.

- Immoral Journalist: The victim. The defense goes out of its way to paint him as a gossip journalist who is willing to spy on people with a telescope or go through their garbage.
- Ripped from the Headlines The first part of the episode is clearly inspired by the controversy surrounding tabloid journalism following the death of Princess Diana (Schiff: "The public still remembers a mangled car in a Paris tunnel.") . After this episode aired, it was determined that tabloid journalists were not responsible for the crash.
