Inside the Chateau, Cinderella longingly gazes at the Castle of Dreams. Just then, her mouse companion Jaq arrives, explaining that someone new is in the house.
Said newcomer is Ven, who has somehow been shrunk to the size of a mouse. He meets Cinderella and Jaq, who come to free him from a cage he had walked into. Cinderella begins to get acquainted with Ven, but her stepfamily, the Tremaines, remind her to keep doing her chores, forcing her to leave.
Jaq explains to Ven that Cinderella desires to live a different life from the one she's in. Though she is forced to work for the Tremaines, she still holds on to her dreams. Getting an idea, Jaq recruits Ven to help her get ready for the ball, fetching materials for a dress for her to wear. Before Ven sets off, Jaq warns him of the Tremaines' cat, Lucifer.
Ven is able to retrieve most of the materials without a hitch, but the last item, a pearl, is in Lucifer's grasp. Ven carefully manages to retrieve it while Lucifer naps, but the cat wakes up and prepares to attack Ven. Jaq distracts Lucifer, and Ven hands the pearl to Jaq before fending Lucifer off.
When Cinderella is done with her chores, Ven asks her is she is looking forward to the ball. He and Jaq reveal the dress, much to her excitement because she can fulfill her dream. Jaq asks Ven what his dream is, and Ven replies that he wants to be a Keyblade Master.
Tropes:
- Cats Are Mean: Lucifer. Especially since Ven is mouse-sized.
- Composite Character: Ven assumes the role of Gus from the film as Jaq's partner, complete with getting stuck in the same trap Gus is in the film.
- Fun with Subtitles: Jaq retains his signature "Mouse Latin" speech patterns, but the subtitles for his dialogue mostly do not match what he's saying.
- Incredible Shrinking Man: Just how did Ven even end up mouse-sized in this world? And for that matter, so have the Unversed.
