As Aqua leaves Neverland, she sees a bright light appearing in front of her. Following it, she finds herself at the tropical world of Destiny Islands, where she meets two boys named Sora and Riku. Aqua notes that Riku reminds her strongly of Terra, and Sora reminds her of Ventus. She considers performing the Keyblade bequeathing ritual on one of them, but she realizes that Riku already received the power. She assumes that Terra is the one who gave it to him. Aqua tells Sora that he needs to be there to help Riku if he ever goes down a dark path, which Sora vows to do. Aqua observes that even a single Keyblade can ruin friendships, so giving Sora one as well would be a mistake. She wonders what will happen to her and her friends as she leaves the island.
Back in space, Aqua spots an unconscious Mickey, so she picks him up. He asks her to take him to Yen Sid, so she goes to the Mysterious Tower. There, Yen Sid delivers a tragic piece of news to her: Eraqus is dead. When she asks who is responsible, the elderly Master hesitates, but he tells her that Xehanort and Terra were the culprits. Aqua refuses to believe that Terra would kill his own Master and asks Yen Sid where he went. He tells her that Terra went to the Keyblade Graveyard, the place where the Keyblade War took place long ago. Her heart full of sorrow, Aqua solemnly makes her way to the site of the ancient conflict...
