It looks like Herky's caught a case of "Upsy-Downosis," a kind of cold that causes planes and helicopters to fly upside down. Not wanting to miss out on a trip to the beach, Herky tries to keep his cold a secret! But when Herky's Upsy-Downosis causes him to mess up an important delivery for Brenda, he learns why it's best to let an adult know when you're not feeling well.
"Upsy Downosis" provides examples of:
- An Aesop: Always inform an adult in case you don’t feel well; hiding the sickness will only make it worse.
- Cannot Spit It Out: Herky has to keep his Upsy Downosis a secret so he can go to the fair. It doesn't go very well.
- Comically Missing the Point:Herky: The r-r-rides at the R-r-rivertown Fair-r-r are the goodest r-r-rides ever-r-r!Tracy: Herky, "goodest" isn't a word. You mean they have the best rides ever.Herky: R-r-right, they have those, too.
- Foreshadowing: The kids repeatedly swerve and barrel roll themselves a lot during the song. This is what happens to Herky and later the others prior to flipping upside down.
- Heroic BSoD: Herky has a rather big one when the others learn he has Upsy Downosis, and therefor cannot go with them to the fair.
- Incredibly Long Note: "Everything is there, AT THE FAAAAAAIIIIIRRRRRR!!!"
- Sick Episode: Deals with Herky hiding his Upsy Downisis sickness. It becomes contagious afterward.
- Stealth Pun: Snuffy says he's so sick that he's turning green. Jay Jay points out he always was green.
