Go To

"The Performance!" is the sixteenth episode of High Rollers.

After the raid on the Black Valley Brewery, the party awakens in a suite they have been provided with by a knock on the door. Elora answers the door to find a young man with a satchel. He apologises for the early wake-up, but he has a number of things he needs to give to the party. He asks if he may come in and Elora lets him into the central room of the suite where Trell and Jiǔtóu are also awake. First a number of letters are handed out for everyone, having arrived over a number of days. He also tells them that Dermot wishes to speak to them before the Feast of Stone, and then asks if they've anything they need right now that he can get people to fetch. Elora requests some breakfast and hot water for baths, and the young man leaves to get this sorted out. Elora goes into Cam's room to wake him up, finding him passed out in everything but his boots, all covers on the floor. She uses his letter to slap him awake, then presses it into his hands and tells him breakfast is coming. The group read through their letters and eventually the young man returns with others, carrying different foods for breakfast. Trell asks him about his letter and the man says he doesn't know where it came from, it arrived at reception two days ago. Elora reveals that hers was from her parents, Cam simply tears his up and throws it into the fire. He then begins to pick and choose from the selection of foods brought for breakfast stuffing them into his mouth, while Jiǔtóu eats quietly in the corner reading her letter. Trell hides his letter away, but Cam sees this and tries to guess what's on the letter, thinking it's a love letter. Trell says that some things a man needs to keep a secret, and Elora asks him if he's okay. Trell brightly bluffs that everything is fine, and Elora believes there is no reason he'd lie to her, but Cam suspects that Trell is not being truthful. Cam asks if it's good or bad, if anyone is going to die, and Trell says that he's in the right area. Eventually all he will say is that when he left his home, a few people were not happy with the situation. He then decides to pass the letter over to Cam who then shows it to the others - "Lolth doesn't forget. Lolth doesn't forgive." Cam continues to think this is about Trell's other half though, and she's annoyed that Trell left home and her. Trell decides to go with it.
