• Belief Makes You Stupid: Grandma Huang mistakes their new home's intercom system as the voices of disturbed spirits, and spends the entire episode in the main lobby with her unpacked luggage eagerly waiting to leave and let them rest.
• Cliffhanger: The episode (and thus season) ends with the Huangs realizing their new, "Upper" class life isn't for them, so they sell their new house and prepare to move back...but their old landlord has already sold their old home to another family, leaving them homeless.
• Stopped Reading Too Soon: When Evan brings his new private school blazer home, Emery notices a tag that says "Made in China", and forces him to protest against the likely use of sweat shops. It's only after Evan gets kicked out for making a fuss that they re-examine the tag and see it was actually made in the (fictional) American town of "Chinahook, Wisconsin".
