Fraiser's anxiety over being disliked by a columnist named Derek Mann soon results in Mann challenging Frasier to a fist fight, of which he has reservations to do so.
Tropes:
- Gratuitous Mariachi Band: When Frasier is dared to fight Derek, he marvels at the media circus forming outside and quips that all that's missing is a mariachi band. Niles says "They're just setting up." When Frasier steps outside to face his opponent, the band starts playing.
- Somebody Doesn't Love Raymond: What sets Frasier off in the episode is being disliked by a columnist and he's utterly curious as to why.
