Recap / Fates Collide Ch 78 Invincible

Go To

A massive horde of Grimm marches across the plains, but Vlad uses Kazikli Bey to impale them all with stakes coming out of the ground. Pyrrha and Glynda are impressed, but Vlad points out there are more Grimm coming and he can't do it forever. Karna steps up and uses Vasavi Shakti to incinerate the next wave, along with most of the land. Pyrrha is really impressed by her boyfriend's power. Vlad says they should rotate their attacks so that they don't get tired. Arjuna says it's his turn, but Karna spots something in the flames. Suddenly, he gets impaled by a huge black spike. Pyrrha quickly catches him, but a huge shockwave blows out the flames. Karna is alive, but in bad condition. Vlad tells Pyrrha to get him out of here. She agrees, but then stakes identical to Kazikli Bey erupt and kill their horses. Shocked, Vlad says he didn't do that.

Carmilla walks up and says her research project did that. Pyrrha deduces she is an Alter and Carmilla confirms it. She explains that Vlad and Iskandar both left blood behind after some of their past battles. She collected it, then was able to create beings to counter them. She made Darius for Iskandar and Dracula for Vlad. Dracula walks up. He looks like Vlad except he has red eyes, grey skin, long and lanky arms, fangs, and a look of pure hatred. He screams like a wild animal. Vlad angrily yells about his impostor, but Carmilla zaps him with electricity and traps him in a force field. She tells Dracula to destroy Apocrypha. Bat-like wings emerge from his back and he starts to fly away. Pyrrha and Arjuna take flight and attack him, but are shocked when he regenerates almost instantly, then knocks them down.

Carmilla boasts that Dracula is invincible, but Glynda blasts him with light and it severely burns him. Glynda says just as she thought, he's vulnerable to sunlight. Carmilla asks how she figured it out, and Glynda points out with Dracula's power, it is the only reason why she waited until the sun went down to unleash him, plus he looks like he's never seen the sun in his life. She blasts Dracula again, but Carmilla counters with her own blast and demands to know who she is. Glynda introduces herself, and Carmilla is confused because she didn't know about the exchange program between Chaldea and Beacon. Pyrrha and Arjuna attack Dracula, who is regenerating. Carmilla says Glynda is from an inferior kingdom and will be easy prey, so Glynda scolds her for underestimating her opponent. She uses a spell to turn her riding crop into a sword of light and clashes it against Carmilla's staff.

Arjuna uses his Noble Phantasm, Pashuputa. He hurls a ball of energy at Dracula that explodes, ripping him apart. However, Dracula turns into mist and reforms himself, then slams him into the ground. Glynda and Carmilla continue to fight. Carmilla gets irritated that Glynda is doing so well and not responding to her taunts. Glynda says that's the best way to deal with an egotistical bully like her. Carmilla causes the force field holding Vlad to electrify him, and threatens to kill him unless Glynda throws down her weapon. Vlad screams at her to forget about him and just kill Carmilla, but Glynda drops her riding crop and says she loves him, surprising him. Carmilla summons her Iron Maiden and traps Glynda inside it.

Pyrrha continues to battle Dracula. He almost manages to bite her, but Karna blasts him with fire from the ground. Angry, Dracula fires a rain of stakes at him. Arjuna uses his body as a shield and gets impaled several times. He says Karna is not allowed to fall except by his hands, then collapses. Karna cries over his brother. Pyrrha attacks again, but Dracula uses his mist form to get behind her and tries to bite her again. She stabs him in the right eye with Gae Akuno, which makes him thrash around and rip the spear out of her hands. He lunges again, but she uses Polarity to turn her bangle back into a mini lance and stab him in the left eye. She retrieves Gae Akuno and hurls it, stabbing him in the heart. He doesn't die, so she activates "Gae Akuno: Prison" to have the spear surround him with a magnetic force field. He tries to escape by turning into mist, but it doesn't work.

Carmilla guesses that Pyrrha is trying to hold him until the sun comes up, then chuckles and says she doesn't have the stamina for it, then prepares to attack her from behind. Glynda appears and traps her in a force field of light. Shocked, Carmilla says there's no way she could escape the Iron Maiden. Glynda deduces that she is Elizabeth Bathory's Alter, because she fell for the same trick she did. What the Iron Maiden trapped was an illusion. Saying Elizabeth has a bright future ahead of her while Carmilla does not, Glynda declares, "Gwiazda Bialego Karla!" and blasts her with a huge ball of light that vaporizes her. The ball continues and slams into the prison holding Dracula. At the same time, Pyrrha unleashes an explosion from Gae Akuno, completely destroying him. With Carmilla's death, the force field holding Vlad disappears. Glynda and Pyrrha are exhausted, then they see that Karna and Arjuna are helping each other walk.
