As they follow Jeanne into the castle, Ruby asks Glynda who the other team of four are. She answers they are a team from Haven Academy who also took the exchange program. Glynda looks at the black haired woman and says she looks vaguely familiar.
Jeanne takes them to Dr. Romani Archaman, or Dr. Roman, the head of the Medical and Admissions Department. Dr. Roman says as the final act of admission, he needs to assign them Class Cards. They are confused, so he explains a Class Card lists the details of a person's abilities and designates them as a certain class of fighter. They have to stick their hands into a pillar of light coming from a table. Weiss Schnee volunteers to go first. Everyone watches in fascination as a card materializes that has an image of Weiss wielding her rapier. Dr. Roman reads the card and says she is a Saber, often considered one of the best Classes, which stokes Weiss's ego. He is amazed because her Magical Energy stat is abnormally high, as if she were a Caster. They don't know what that means, so he remembers the other kingdoms call it Aura.
Ruby Rose goes next and her card says she is a Rider. She gets confused, as she doesn't even now how to drive, but Dr. Roman says she has great potential to have a riding based style. Yang Xiao Long goes next and her card says she is a Berserker. Dr. Roman comments that she has the Mad Enhancement skill, but it can be turned on and off, which is unusual. Blake Belladonna goes next and her card says she is an Assassin. Blake becomes troubled because her card's image shows her without the bow that disguises her cat ears, exposing her as a Faunus. She asks Dr. Roman about Apocrypha's stance on Faunus. He says Apocrypha doesn't care who or what you are, but what you do, which makes her feel better.
Jaune Arc goes next and his card says he is a Saber. He becomes excited, but Dr. Roman reads the card and says all his stats except his Charisma are really low. Lie Ren goes next and his card says he is an Assassin. He asks how many Classes are there. Dr. Roman answers there are normally seven, but some are special cases. Jeanne says she is a Ruler, which amazes them as she explains she is in a leadership position and has special responsibilities and authority. Nora Valkyrie goes next and her card says she is a Berserker. Pyrrha Nikos goes next and her card says she is a Lancer. Her stats are all abnormally high.
Cinder Fall goes next and her card says she is an Archer. Again, her stats are abnormally high. Mercury Black goes next and his card says he is an Assassin. His Strength stat is abnormally high, and he has Independent Action. Mercury is so lazy that he walks back without picking his card up and tells Emerald to do it, annoying her. Emerald Sustrai goes next and her card says she is an Assassin. When she walks back, she purposefully drops Mercury's card, forcing him to pick it up. Neo goes next and her card says she is a Rider. Dr. Roman is amazed because her Riding Skill is EX, the highest rank, plus her stats and abilities make it seem like she is a Berserker and Saber as well.
Glynda Goodwitch goes last and her card says she is a Caster. Her Territory Creation stat is really high, though Glynda comments she'd call her Semblance Territory Recreation. Now that registration is done, Jeanne takes them to the cafeteria. She explains that they will each get a room with an existing student as a roommate, while Glynda will get a room for herself because she is a teacher. She tells them not to lose their Class Cards, as they will function as both ID and the keys to their rooms.
