After dinner, everyone goes to their assigned rooms. Ruby finds that her Class Card functions like a hotel card key and enters her room. She wonders how it made an image of her wielding her scythe Crescent Rose. She marvels as the room is twice the size of her room at Beacon Academy. She realizes Jeanne never told them about their roommates. She looks around and sees a sword near a bed and lots of girly clothes and shoes in the closet. She looks in the bathroom and is shocked to find her roommate, who is only in a towel after taking a shower, is a boy. Completely oblivious to her getting embarrassed, he happily introduces himself as Astolfo. He drops his towel in front of her to put on his pajamas, and she faints. Confused, he assumes she is just tired from the trip and carries her to a bed, bidding her good night.
Yang goes to a room and runs into a full armored girl who asks what she is doing. Yang proves her card opens the door, so the girl removes her helmet and introduces herself as her roommate, Mordred. Yang jokes she should be glad her name isn't "Lessdred", annoying her.
Emerald and Mercury part ways, insulting each other. Mercury tries to enter his room, but the man inside warns him not to enter the domain of a king without permission. Mercury enters anyway, and his right prosthetic leg immediately gets blown off. Shocked, Mercury asks how it happened when his Aura was full. The man inside, who was sipping wine, says he warned him not to disrespect the King of Heroes. Mercury calls him insane, and the man fires a sword out of a portal that blows off his left prosthetic leg. Mercury protests that this was his assigned room, but the man calls him a liar and orders him to get out or he will kill him. He orders him to crawl on his hands and knees all the way to the infirmary to get his legs repaired. After Mercury leaves, Dr. Roman calls the man, Gilgamesh, and tells him he will be getting a roommate named Mercury Black, and sends a picture of him. Gilgamesh laughs and says there was a misunderstanding, then asks Dr. Roman to tell Mercury that when he gets out of the infirmary, he will be welcome and he'll even share his wine.
Emerald enters her room and bumps into her roommate, Robin Hood. He politely introduces himself, and she quickly becomes smitten.
Jaune, Jeanne, and Pyrrha walk to Jeanne's room. Jaune, who was carrying their luggage, is tired and complains about her room being on such a high floor. Jaune will be staying with Jeanne, and she points out Pyrrha's room is across from hers. Pyrrha enters and encounters a little doglike creature that says, "Fou!" over and over again. She looks inside and sees a girl had fallen asleep while typing a report. Pyrrha sees her name on the report, Mash Kyrielight. Pyrrha wakes her up and introduces herself. Mash introduces herself and her pet, Fou, and says she had been up all night typing this report on polarity. Pyrrha smiles and says she knows a thing or two about that, and offers to assist her.
Cinder enters her room and meets her roommate, who says to just call him Archer. She says she had done research and knows his real name is Shirou Emiya. Suddenly, she conjures swords into her hands with Dust and attacks him, but he conjures his swords Kanshou and Bakuya and blocks her strikes. She stops and laughs, saying it is true, he can create things without using Dust. Slightly angry, he asks what this is about. She wants him to teach her how to Trace weapons without using Dust like he can, which she believes is an ability he gained from his silver eyes, citing the legend of the Silver-Eyed Warriors. He says even if that old legend were true, she doesn't have silver eyes. She points at an old photo of him, when he had red hair and amber eyes instead of silver hair and eyes, saying this means her own eyes can turn silver. He says he's not teaching her anything. She angrily says she wants and deserves as many powers as she can acquire. He laughs and says that is a very selfish reason, but very well. He will teach her, if she can learn.
