Gawain and Lancelot's class all ride horses except for Lancelot, who walks in the back while Mash slows her horse down to keep him company. They stay just at the edge of the forest, scanning for Grimm. Out of nowhere, Jaune's horse throws him and he lands in a pile of black goop, getting it all over his clothes. He freaks out and asks what this stuff is. Jeanne and Pyrrha speculate it is either a Grimm spawn, or Grimm excrement, which he is not amused by. Anyway, it is what spooked his horse, as it can sense its evil. The horse shies away from him until he looks it in the eyes and it calms down. He is still amazed that being a Saber means he has Riding Skill, as he had never ridden a horse before, yet he instinctively knows what to do, but Gawain has to tell him his horse is a mare. Jaune asks the others not to tell anyone about him falling into the goop, but Jeanne starts to get suspicious when Pyrrha says she will keep this secret also. Gawain says they should go back. Disappointed, Jaune says he wanted to watch him fight some Grimm. Gawain tells him while you should always be prepared for a fight, you shouldn't be looking for one.
In town, Astolfo carries several bags of clothes for himself. Bored, Ruby says they had been there for hours and asks if they can go back to the school. He says not until she buys an outfit for herself. She asks if she can buy a weapon instead, but he says the town has no weapon shops; they are all provided by the school. He hands her his Class Card and explains they can also be used as credit cards, then tells her to find an outfit while he rests on a bench.
Ruby wanders the shops trying to figure out what to buy. She inexplicably starts flashing back to the time she saw Astolfo naked and blushes, slapping herself in the face. She walks into a shop where Elizabeth Bathory is holding several boxes of clothes and waiting outside a changing room for Tamamo no Mae to finish trying on clothes. Ruby asks Elizabeth for help, but she says she is busy. Ruby tries to walk away, but accidentally steps on Elizabeth's tail. She screams and drops the boxes, spilling the clothes everywhere, then yells at Ruby. She frantically apologizes and says she wanted help because Elizabeth looked so cool so she thought she could help her decide what to buy. Touched, Elizabeth says no one had ever called her cool before and agrees to help her.
Tamamo no Mae comes out of the changing room and demands money from Ruby for getting her clothes dirty. Upon hearing Ruby's name, the two chuckle as they realize she is the girl Nero is looking for, though Ruby doesn't know what they are talking about. Suddenly, a girl who looks identical to Tamamo, except her hands and feet look like paws, walks up. Elizabeth explains that she is Tamamo no Mae's sister, Tamamo Cat. Tamamo no Mae allows Ruby and Elizabeth to leave as she starts bickering with her sister.
Outside, Elizabeth assures Ruby that Tamamo and her sister still love each other. She notes that Altera is at the buffet, then picks a store for Ruby's new outfit.
Elizabeth meets Astolfo and tells him to behold the new Ruby. Embarrassed, Ruby walks up in a pink and white frilly dress and hat. Astolfo says she looks beautiful, making her blush harder. Ruby says she prefers outfits she can fight in, as the skirt renders her barely able to walk. Elizabeth says she can relate and summons her spear, Kilenc Sarkany, saying she wears outfits that won't snag on it in battle. Ruby is excited by the new weapon and is able to tell it has a sound based attack, impressing Elizabeth. Astolfo chuckles and says he knows a guy Ruby would like to meet. As the three go to get dinner, Ruby says Kilenc Sarkany is cool, making Elizabeth hug her.
