Japanese Title: The Holy Digimon
Tai and Sora reach the ruins where they are greeted by the spirit of Valdurmon, who explains of an ancient war between the Digimon of light and darkness that brought Agumon and Biyomon to tears. Valdurmon reveals the defeated Dark Digimon army has resurfaced as Tai and Sora fight a platoon led by Ogremon off before told to search for the Celestial Digimon on the Cloud Continent. Meanwhile, in the belly of Whamon, Izzy and Tentomon deal with Tylomon attacking Whamon.

- Brainwashed and Crazy: This episode marks the first appearance of the Soundbirdmon that manipulate other Digimon to fight for them.
- Foreshadowing: Six of the Mega level Digimon aiding the Celestial Digimon are the mega forms of Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Tentomon, Palmon, and Gomamon.
- I'm Crying, but I Don't Know Why: Agumon and Biyomon find themselves crying after seeing images of the ancient war.
- Mythology Gag: Tentomon digivolves into Kabuterimon for the first time in the 5th episode.
- Wham Episode: The Soundbirdmon debut here as a sign of things to come. The term DigiDestined (or Chosen Children) is mentioned for the first time as well. The episode also ends with the kids on a quest to find the Celestial Digimon.
