Taichi and Koushiro tries to locate Mimi and Palmon after the two fell into the depths of the ruins. Meanwhile, Mimi and Palmon wandered about the ruins, eventually coming across a deactivated Guardromon among piles of robotic parts whom Mimi express sympathy towards. Andromon appears and attacks them, easily beating Togemon, but Guardromon suddenly reactivateed by itself and helped them escape. Thanks to Guardromon, Mimi and Palmon eventually reunites with the others, but Andromon catches up, easily taking down Guardromon and Kabuterimon on his own, while also surving MetalGreymon's attack. The heavily damaged Guardromon, remembering Mimi's kindness towards it, sacrificed itself to hold back Andromon, with Mimi's grief causing Togemon to evolve into Lilymon and defeat Andromon, who appeared to regain its senses at the last moment. The group later discovered that Guardromon and Andromon were former comrades until the latter was manipulated. Her resolve strengthened, Mimi leaves a flower as a memorial for the two Digimon before the group continues their journey.
