Supergirl meets Ted Kord again, now ready to debut as Metropolis's new superhero, the Blue Beetle!
Tropes:
- Atrocious Alias: A small Running Gag is how both Supergirl and Livewire think "Blue Beetle" is a lame superhero name.
- Destructive Savior: Blue Beetle crashes through a lot of walls throughout the episode. It doesn't seem to matter though since he says he owns those buildings.
- Faux-To Guide: Beetle cites one of his own, Success Is Only 1% Preparation, 2000% Activation based on his experiences becoming a young tech millionaire. The upshot of it is he doesn't seem to think he needs to practice with the high-powered weapons he plans to use to fight supervillains.
- Incredibly Lame Fun: Mr. Danvers is extremely excited to have Kara with him to time exactly how long it takes for the new paint he's developed to dry.
- Soft Glass: Inverted. An early gag has Blue Beetle trying to fly through a skylight, bounce off the glass a few times, then crash through the ceiling next to it on the first try. Later Supergirl tries to fly through the same skylight, bounces off a few times too, then crashes through the ceiling on the other side!
