Zarkon lures Voltron into battle on his ship, and when one of the Black Lion is captured, the team must get creative to defeat the Galra and return home.
- Adaptational Badass: Due to an Adaptational Context Change, Zarkon ends up fighting both Suzaku and Kallen, and utterly destroys them. Additionally, he has his powers further boosted in this story by a Geass.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Kallen and Suzaku get themselves soundly defeated by Zarkon, while Lelouch has Haggar run circles around him in their Wizard Duel.
- Wham Shot: Several.
- As in Legendary Defender canon, Zarkon holding the Black Bayard, confirming that he is the former Black Paladin.
- Adding onto the above, when Lelouch mentally confronts Zarkon, the latter has a Geass symbol in his eyes, confirming he has a Geass.
- Just as the galra traitor shuts down the forcefield, we get a good look at their face, revealing their identity as Thace.
- Wizard Duel: Lelouch has one with Haggar. It is decidedly in Haggar's favor.
