Go To

The crew talk about Stefania Follini, an Italian interior designer, as well as music on the moon.

Article of discussion: Stefania Follini

Tropes:

  • A God Am I: When Stefania finally exited the cave, the first words she heard from another human's voice in six months was from experiment coordinator Maurizio Montalbini: "Stefania, this is your God talking to you."
    Chris: Dude had issues!
  • Insane Troll Logic: When Tom asks the rest of the cast what Stefania brought down with her when in isolation to keep her spirits up, we get the responses of "Cat" from Matt, but Gary mentions "Paint" and then "White Spirit", which Tom gets caught out by for being so bizarre.
  • The Night That Never Ends: As Tom notes, Circadian rhythms get increasingly longer, meaning Stefania's experience comes off as this, and Gary is quite surprised that companies haven't exploited this fact to "get longer days out of people".
  • Shout-Out: Gary mentions Norris McWhirter (founder and writer for the Guinness book of records) when asked by Tom who was presenting the award for "Longest Cave Isolation" for women.
  • Take That!: Toward Amazon and their treatment of their staff in their warehouses.
  • Violation of Common Sense: Gary is utterly perplexed by NASA wanting to use an Italian interior designer in the experiment, both Chris and Gary joke they wanted her to just decorate the cave under the guise of an experiment.
