Recap / Chuck S 1 E 11 Chuck Vs The Crown Vic

Go To

Christmas is coming, and that means only one thing at the Buy More: Jeff must be kept away from the eggnog, and not allowed to go on Nerd Herd jobs by himself. That's how Chuck ends up escorting Jeff and Lester to a job on a yacht at the Marina, where some blundering by Lester results in Chuck seeing some money...

**FLASH**

... which is counterfeit. The yacht is owned by Lon Kirk, billionaire philanthropist raising money for humanitarian concerns in Taiwan, which now appears to be a front for his counterfeiting operation. Chuck and Sarah go undercover at a charity fundraiser. However, Chuck and Sarah are at odds in the aftermath of the Bryce debacle, and Chuck ends up losing a hundred thousand dollars at a roulette table. However, Sarah makes a date with Kirk for the next day.

Meanwhile, Morgan is meeting Anna's parents, who are in town with a delegation of Taiwanese diplomats. Nervous, he tries to impress them and ends up acting like an asshole. He also looks over at a neighbouring yacht and sees none other than Sarah, on her date with Kirk. Like a good friend, he calls Chuck, who joins Casey's surveillance. As Kirk and Sarah go below, Chuck flashes on some crates, which he is sure contain the counterfeiting plates. Casey calls a search of the yacht and opens the crates, which contain only medicine.

The team is benched and Chuck is in disgrace, with Sarah convinced that his flash occurring just when she and Kirk went below is no coincidence. Later, Morgan sends Chuck a photo of himself on a yacht with Anna and her parents... with the same crates Chuck flashed on in the background. Unable to get Casey to believe him, he goes to Sarah, who does.

The team go to the marina, where Chuck flashes on a device attached to Morgan's yacht; a tracking device for a rocket launcher. Realising Kirk intends to destroy the plates and his accomplices, Chuck and Sarah stage a scene to distract Kirk while Casey sneaks aboard. A fight ensues, but the rocket is launched. Chuck hacks the controller, but needs another GPS device to redirect the rocket onto... like Casey's beloved Crown Victoria.

At the Buy More Christmas party, Chuck and Sarah make up. Meanwhile, Casey gets a call from General Beckman; the new Intersect is almost ready, and when it is, Chuck will have to go...

Trope Flash:

  • Armor-Piercing Question: Chuck to Sarah when she confronts him about the problems they've been having since the Big Damn Kiss.
Chuck: Did you kiss me because we were about to die and mine were the only lips available, or was it actually about me?
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: Anna's mother, thirty seconds into lunch with Morgan.
  • Oh, Crap!: When Chuck reprogram the missile.
    Casey: Where's it headed now?
    Chuck: I don't know, I reprogrammed it.
Casey: You sure "reprogram" doesn't mean "return to sender"?
  • The Precious, Precious Car: Casey's beloved Crown Victoria is sadly the only GPS device available when Chuck needs to redirect the missile. It gets blown away.
  • You Have to Believe Me!: After his previous misstep, Chuck has trouble getting Casey to act on his information about the crates. Sarah, however, believes him straight away.
