An insolent student slaps Marla, who slaps her back. Danny discovers Allison bullies other kids at her school. Carmen asks Steven to remove Jake from her class.

- Adults Are Useless: Lettie's mother confronts Marla and doesn't seem at all interested that her daughter assaulted Marla first.
- Crime of Self-Defense: Marla is suspended after she slaps Lettie who struck her first.
- Good Old Ways: Harvey expresses he wants to bring back spanking students.
- Hypocrite: Steven assaulted a student in the pilot episode, but refuses to support Marla after she slaps a student who slapped her first.
- Indignant Slap: Lettie slaps Marla for telling her she's liable to end up in a dead-end job if she persists in using her sexuality to get what she wants. Marla responds in kind and gets suspended for her trouble.
- Noodle Incident: Steven recounts an incident in which a student bit him. He also mentions he's been spat at in the past.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Marla gives a variation to Lettie. This results in Lettie slapping her.
