Former lawman "Denver McKee" crosses paths with the Cartwright family when, in his pursuit to make his daughter Connie happy by giving her everything that money can buy, he joins an outlaw gang. Things become complicated when Joe falls in love with Connie.
This episode features a bit role by a young, up-and-coming game show host named Bob Barker ... the guy who was (at the time) hosting Truth or Consequences, which also was airing on NBC; undoubtedly, he made a huge deal about promoting his guest appearance (as a character named Mort) in the days leading to "Denver McKee" first airing. Suffice it to say, Barker had bigger and better things coming up when he'd be tapped 12 years after this episode aired to host The Price Is Right.
