Recap / BoBoiBoy S2 E9 "Mornings With Mr Probe And Adu Du"

Go To

Adu Du and Probe set up a live talk show to convince the people of Rintis Island that BoBoiBoy is not good.

This episode provides examples of:

  • …But He Sounds Handsome: During the talk show, Probe (as the host) asks Adu Du about his "dashingly handsome robot helper" and whether the robot helper would get a raise. Adu Du shuts Probe up by claiming that he accidentally shot his late robot helper when he asked for a raise.
  • Fake-Out Fade-Out: Iris Out almost happens early in the episode after BoBoiBoy and his friends win while Adu Du is stuck with a TV on his head. The Iris Out stops because the TV gives Probe an idea, continuing the episode.
  • Halfway Plot Switch: The storyline from the previous two episodes is resolved early. Once that ends, Probe comes up with a new and unrelated scheme to fill the rest of the episode.
  • Meaningless Villain Victory: In the end, Adu Du's talk show is watched by four and a half people, which is enough for Adu Du to consider it a win. Then it turns out those people consist of people (and a cat) who wouldn't believenote  or getnote  the anti-BoBoiBoy message Adu Du was trying to send.
  • Talk Show Appearance: The second half of the episode revolves around Adu Du trying to defame BoBoiBoy through a self-made talkshow, MKHIPI, hosted by Probe with Adu Du and Papa Zola (who basically got bribed) as guests.
  • "We're Live" Realization: Adu Du angrily calls out Probe for allowing BoBoiBoy toy promotion to be aired in their ad break, not realizing that the ad break has stopped. Probe waves it off as a comedy sketch. Not that anyone was watching anyway.
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Adu Du pretends to be badly hurt and on the verge of dying to gain the audience's sympathy. While BoBoiBoy did hurt him, it was to stop Adu Du, the bad guy, and wasn't anywhere near as bad as he makes it out to be.
