Recap / Bo Boi Boy S 2 E 4 Football Fight

Go To

Probe recaps the last episode, where the rivalry between BoBoiBoy and Fang was taken to their PE class, and after an unsatisfactory egg and spoon race, they agreed to settling it with a football match. BoBoiBoy has Gopal, Yaya, Ying, and Iwan form his competing team against Fang. To their surprise, Fang has joined forces with their enemies, Adu Du and Probe, to make his opposing team of 5, which includes 2 newly made Robolabots, who are robots designed to play football.

Papa Zola is the referee and sets the rules: no cheating or using their powers. The scores stay at 0-0 for the first half of the game until Fang just misses blocking BoBoiBoy's curveball. Adu Du gets the ball kicked at him and feigns injury, but he quickly exposes himself when BoBoiBoy claims the goal to be unguarded. A Robolabot also gets penalised later for kicking Ying, rendering her too injured to continue. Tok Aba is called to replace her, and he does well... until he hurts his back in a successful goal kick, leaving the heroes with only 4 players yet again.

Probe tricks Yaya into getting penalised, and she aims a super strong kick towards Probe. The ball knocks out Papa Zola instead, so Adu Du calls a red card on Yaya. With the referee gone, Fang's team employ upgrades that supercharge their kicks and score 2 goals. Gopal and BoBoiBoy decide to use their powers again to even the odds, but it seems that the bad guys have won... until Iwan leads the ball to the goal when Fang celebrates too early. While Adu Du claims this isn't over, Fang admits that his rival has won this time, and dejects the aliens for losing even when they cheated. Unfortunately, Probe's combined form is responsible for destroying a goalpost, and Papa Zola punishes the whole team for it.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Bait-and-Switch: Papa Zola, as the referee, inhales and holds his whistle, only to yell "PREET PREET!" instead. Amar Deep wonders out loud why he doesn't just use the whistle, and he gives Amar Deep a red card to leave the bleachers.
  • Dramatic Spotlight: Fang has a spotlight over him as he's on his hands and knees, lamenting about not having enough players to play football.
  • Standing in the Hall: Papa Zola demands to know who destroyed the school's football net, and Probe gets nervous. The scene cuts to him and the rest of Fang's team being punished by standing in a hall while holding buckets of water.
