Jon Taffer heads to an area barely above the poverty line to a roller rink turned bar with an owner who is beloved by the community, but has a staff whose entitlement, laziness, and terrible attitudes are running the bar into the ground.

- Earn Your Happy Ending: Very few bar owners deserved as good an ending as Jesse, all the volunteering and mentoring he has done in the community comes back to him huge as the community rallies behind his new bar opening and to this day has kept it open. As of October 2022, Derby's remains open, with nearly five stars on Yelp.
- Loved by All: Jesse, the guy is practically a town hero, not without reason as he's been stated to have given back to a community that really needs it. It says a lot when the reopening is treated like a red carpet event (with an actual red carpet).
- Nice Guy: Jesse, even Jon couldn't believe how nice a guy he was, the reason his bar was failing is he thought too highly of his staff and thought they cared as much as he did. Not once does he try to fight Jon on anything, even the tough decisions like firing an employee he cares about, but is terrible at her job.
