The past isn't truly over. They're always by your side, in one way or another.
Dolly

On August 1099, two years after the discovery that the city of Siesta was in danger from an active volcano, the inhabitants have packed up and prepared for their new home, the nomadic city New Siesta. Unfortunately, the volcano's yet to pop off as tensions bubble beneath the surface between citizens and the incoming economic developers from places like Columbia to even Lungmen. All the while, one Adele Naumann is invited to witness the predicted eruption and continue her academic volcanology work, before coming across a Little Black Sheep who offers her a special prize if she can find three little things for him...

Tropes featured in this episode

  • Left the Background Music On: As Enis and Harley quarrel over the former's Oripathy, one of the game's usual ambient themes starts to play. Then it turns out it's actually being played by Byrd who apologizes for playing some music over their talking, she just thought their conversation called for some background music and abruptly stops playing, which cuts off the music in the cutscene.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story:
    • Subverted for Eyjafjalla. After spending most of the event playing Dolly's game and almost getting caught up in a volcanic eruption, she finds out the prize he wanted to give her were the Volcano Watchers, only for the Beast Sovereign to realize that he left them in a place about to be overrun by pyroclastic activity. Then it turns out Enis had picked some flowers from the same spot beforehand and is willing to give them to Eyjafjalla for her
    • Played straight for Poncirus. After spending the entire story trying to get to Siesta, her bad luck causes her to walk into Old Siesta, now smothered in a ton of volcanic ash and completely missing out on what happened in Siesta.
  • Title Drop: It comes from Dolly during his final conversation with Eyjafjalla.
Dolly: I'll take you three somewhere safe. Then, I'll have to be ready for the opening of Volcano Paradise. So long, Adele.
