"It shouldn't be as rare as it is for the 2nd movie in a trilogy to NOT end in a cliffhanger, basically turning it into "Movie 3, part 1." The only trilogy off the top of my head that doesn't do this, is Indiana Jones. How hard is it to have 3 (mostly) self-contained movies?"
