- Every object in the game launches the player high up in the air when stepped on, whether it be another character, a chair, a couch, a screw or even spikes.
- Downplayed:
- There is only one springboard in Adventures of 16-Bit Earwig.
- Springboards will actually launch the player much lower than the default jump height.
- Justified: There are trampolines that launch the player in the air, but only when player has enough vertical momentum.
- Inverted: Adventures of 16-Bit Earwig features objects that launch the player under ground instead.
- Subverted:
- The game features a springboard but when jumped on, it breaks.
- The game mentions springboards in the game but none actually show up.
- Double Subverted:
- A springboard, when stepped on does nothing. Except 10 seconds later when player is suddenly sent high up in the air.
- Averted: There are no springboards in the game.
- Lampshaded: A character wonders why springboards launch the player in the air.
- Invoked: A guy needs to get high up in the air, so he cobbles together a springboard.
- Played For Laughs: Springboards send a player through the ceiling where the player character gets comically stuck.
