Basic Trope: A person does something bad, but gets away with it because he/she is cute.

  • Straight: Bob breaks Alice's computer, but he's so cute and innocent-looking that Alice can't bring herself to blame him.
  • Exaggerated: Bob gets out of blowing up a building because of cuteness.
  • Downplayed: Bob gets away with minor breeches of etiquette being overlooked.
  • Justified:
    • Bob's cuteness is magically based, and no one can resist it.
    • Bob is a small (and thus cute) child, who naturally cannot be expected to know any better.
    • Bob is an adult, and Alice is in love with him.
  • Inverted:
    • Bob's cuteness makes Alice angrier at him.
    • Bob sincerly apologises for breaking Alice's computer, but because he has a rough and haggard appearence his apology is rejected.
    • Charlie gets away with something because he is ugly.
  • Subverted: Alice looks at Bob's cute face and pauses, but then says, "Nice try."
  • Double Subverted: But then Bob's lips quiver and she relents.
  • Parodied: Alice uses this as a defense ''in court' for a murder trial. Successfully too to a stern faced judge and jury who never change their outward expression.
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Everyone is blind, so whether Bob is cute or not doesn't matter.
  • Enforced: ???
  • Lampshaded: "Bob gets away with everything just because he's so cute!"
  • Invoked: Emperor Evulz brainwashes cute children to do his bidding.
  • Exploited: Bob does a lot of bad stuff because he knows he can get away with it.
  • Defied: Alice takes a class in how to resist cuteness.
  • Discussed: "You know, Bob's so cute I bet he could get away with anything."
  • Conversed: "Quick! Look cute. People in TV always fall for it."
  • Deconstructed:
    • Alice fails to discipline Bob for his actions and gives leeway for his cuteness, which results in him getting in trouble with the law when he grows up.
    • Bob's appearance won't stop the jury from landing a guilty verdict on him.
