Each of the Weaver family members have their own unnerving traits and unsettling game mechanics, excluding John and Mary:

Tim: He’s the first enemy of the game and one of John and Mary’s four sons who wears an eerie comedy mask, it also doesn’t help that the player could hear his breathing and wheezing from behind them as if he’s always on their trail and he may be suffering while he also has a pocket knife which he uses to stab the player with. He’s also a brutal killer with him showing no mercy for Sam as demonstrated in his death animations. His sudden jump scare and him jumping from trees may also freak out unsuspecting players.

Lillian: The second child who turns the entire forest Grey which lets players know of her presence, her black eyes and her unsettling singing is creepy enough but when Sam looks at her she flies like hell towards him with her face becoming more inhuman as she screams very loudly at the player. She can also put the player in danger without even killing them with her either teleporting them or blowing their candle flame out. She could also be heard laughing and sobbing as well.

Tom: Tom is arguably just as creepy as his brother if not even more with him making the environment glitch and making worse breathing sounds than Tim with his mangled appearance and broken tragedy mask also not helping matters, the fact that he could also randomly appear in front of Sam while the player isn’t supposed to look at him is also very suspenseful. He’s very brutal just like Tim with both of them even teaming up in one death animation!

Benny: Benny is arguably the most deadly of the children that players encounter in the game, he could be seen sleeping anywhere in the forest with him being very pissed when he’s disturbed as he’ll roar angrily and will catch up to the player very quickly with him either bashing their head in with a rock, stomping on them or throwing them across the forest. He also looks way creepier in No Way Out.

Caleb: The final child who resembles a mummy or a skeleton with him being decayed the most, he mainly moves underground with the player only seeing dirt but he’ll jump out to kill them with him even devouring them alive in one death animation. In the audio for his shovel, a boy could be heard breathing and panting as he runs away from an unknown pursuer with shoveling sounds being heard, implying that it was Caleb’s fate.

Given that other children could’ve also went missing in the forest besides Sam and the Weavers, it’s safe to assume that other vengeful spirits haunt the forest aside from the Weaver Family.

Travis’ death in No Way Out: As he runs away from Benny, Tom, Caleb and Lillian, Travis runs into the Counselors Cabin thinking he’s safe until he sees the words “no way out” on the door as someone kills him with a shovel with the broken camera being the last thing players see as a crow pecks at it. Given that Tim was absent from the chase, it’s likely that he killed Travis or maybe even Duncan himself as he started to hate Travis.

Mary Weaver’s ghost could briefly be encountered in both the main game and the DLC, she’s first seen by Sam in some sort of vision which shows her family’s house being caught on fire while Mary herself looks horribly burnt with her crying and walking until she falls down and screams, in No Way Out, Travis encounters Mary’s floating ghost near the Homestead ruins on the path towards the Bridge, and if he gets too close, she’ll suddenly turn around and look at him before holding onto him while twitching violently before she disappears which is horrifying to say the least.

John Weaver’s ghost is encountered in the Wood Shed in the No Way Out DLC which shows him getting ready to kill himself by hanging, once he puts the noose around his neck and after tipping the chair over, he dies quickly with him also disappearing.

During “Sunday Worship” in the Our Lady of Mercy Church in the DLC, if the player stands before a painting of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion then the painting will suddenly start to glitch with it showing an upside down Jesus who’s flayed.

Also in the church, if the player stands behind the Pastor’s podium then James Mc Alroy could be heard initially giving a sermon before it seems like he’s banishing something evil with a shadowy figure suddenly appearing and pointing at him while the pews levitate and after the figure disappears, Tim and Tom enter the church with Tim walking while Tom teleports towards the Pastor and strangles him, presumably imitating the real man’s death.

During T Bubber’s interview with Old Man Edwards, the man says that he used to go to Pine Creek Summer Camp with Benny and that his campmate preached about his twin brothers being “stolen in their sleep by the Devil”, implying that Tim and Tom were not actually humans and that they were of supernatural or paranormal origin which makes the story even creepier.

One of the biggest mysteries of the game has to be the fact that children and possibly other people started to die or seemingly vanish without a trace while in the forest with the police not finding the people themselves or their remains, while many of the people may be victims of the Weavers’ ghosts, it’s possible that there’s more to the forest than it seems with evil entities probably having something to do with it.

John saying that Mary invited the Devil in their bed, while it could possibly be an affair or something else entirely, it could be interpreted as malevolent beings having communicated with Mary and forcing her to kill her children with her most likely losing her sanity as well and burning her house down.

Each of the Weaver children gain even creepier forms in the No Way Out DLC with Tim’s mask looking more like a charred skull, Tom looking even more mangled, Caleb looking more decayed and less human, Benny wearing a broken doll mask and his neck being wounded and Lillian’s eyes being replaced by doll buttons, making her look like a stuffed animal.
