Nightmare Fuel / Tigtone

Go To

Just about everything about this show is nightmare fuel. The animation, the facial expressions, the violence, and even the humor. It's enough to give Metalocalypse a run for its money.

  • The way they animated the faces was nightmarish for the makers of this cartoon. Because the characters are two-dimensional, the actors couldn't move their heads around, so in order to capture the characters' facial movements without moving the registration for the cameras was to lock their heads in a vice-like contraption. It was the worst part for some of the animators.
  • The brutal injuries that the poor, immortal Helpy goes through whenever he's with Tigtone.
  • Tigtone suffers writer's block in Dear Journal #4. So what does he do? He stabs a random thug to death so he has something to write about!
  • Tigtone killing a group of invading bandits in a tavern offscreen in Dear Journal #7. He can be heard laughing with glee at how gory and disturbing it is while he's slicing up the bandits.
  • What Tigtone and Helpy saw in the archway. Tigtone described it as "pure, unknowable, infinite, cosmic terror".
    • Tigtone's immediate reaction to the archway. He just screams in pure terror and can't even muster a single word for several days. Helpy's breaks the silence by asking a simple question, "What happened?"
    • Just to add onto how incomprehensibly terrifying it is, the sequence inside the archway is the only scene in the whole show that is not presented in forced widescreen.
    • Then he gets the idea of turning it into a roadside attraction and charge people to walk through it!
  • During Wizard Hunt Day, all magic is gone, which means Helpy loses his regenerative powers. And to make matters worse, Tigtone just so happened to be turned into a wizard at the start of the episode.
  • Tigtone encounters a crew of sky wine pirates, so what does he do? He temporarily turns Helpy into a vampire and has him turn them into sky blood pirates.
  • Jacques isn't immortal like Helpy. And Helpy uses every opportunity to mock his counterpart's death.
  • The only way for Tigtone to stop the winged unicorns and horned pegasi (who look exactly alike) to stop fighting? Turning them into horrible, ugly-looking mutants. Which makes one ugly horse the most beautiful by their standards, thus he claims himself king.
  • After killing the Greater Good, Tigtone realizes how boring life can be after killing a god, so he steals the Jengas from the Crystal Gods and uses it to throw the world into chaos so there will always be quests, thus ensuring he will never be bored again.
  • In the first episode of Season 2 which picks up where Season 1 left off, Prince Lavender finds out he's actually the son of the court wizard Amothedeus, making him half-wizard. With this knowledge in mind, he decides to declare himself king. Using his magic powers, he kills the King and banishes the Queen, resulting in her going insane as she swears revenge. He also teams up with the new villain Spaceress since they both want revenge on Tigtone for causing so much misfortune.
  • The island's inhabitants made from Helpy's body parts. Tigtone and Helpy kill them all when they think they want to sacrifice them, but they only wanted to celebrate with them. To make matters worse, they were also the only ones who kept Hurty, the monster made from Helpy's brain, imprisoned. Tigtone's solution? Make Helpy eat Hurty's brain.
  • The whole premise of the Screaming City episode. If you stop screaming, a monster kills you so swiftly, you won't see what's coming. Tigtone is the only one safe from the monster since he's always internally screaming his thoughts. How does he stop the monster? By swapping his ears with his eyes.
  • Helpy gets violently angry at Tigtone when he fails the maze again because of his want for killing something.
