- Dr. Freudstein's presence can be felt throughout the movie, but we don't get around to seeing him in his full glory until the very end and it's one Hell of a reveal. His face and hands are the only parts of him we see, and he lacks any hair, eyes or lips, his skin red and shiny like it was made of scar tissue. Not only that, but the only noises he makes sounds like a young child crying.
- On top of Dr. Freudstein hiding in the basement, the entire house shows signs that it's haunted, including signs of his past victims appearing around the property, things move on their own, animals going insane, etc. Whether this is the symptom or cause of Freudstein violating the laws of nature is anyone's guess.
- Bob's fate. After Freudstein kills his parents, Bob is escorted into the fog by the ghosts of his wife and daughter, presumably to wander the afterlife as a lost soul forever.
