• The fact that Arne only becomes possessed by attempting to save David, his girlfriend's brother, from the demon.
• Debbie's unwavering love for Arne (and vice versa), even when he is possessed by the demon. It becomes double sweet when the epilogue reveals that they marry while Arne is in prison, and were still married as of the film's production. Debbie ultimately passed away from cancer in 2021, still married to Arne.
• Lorraine's story about how she and Ed first met when they were teenagers.
• At the very end, after it's shown that Ed has forgotten to take his heart medication with him again, Lorraine opens up her locket and reveals that she has stashed a pill there for safe keeping.
• The priest wants Lorraine to go home and get some rest when she is keeping vigil at Ed's hospital bed after his heart attack. Lorraine simply has this to say:
  Lorraine: I could go back to the house, Father — but my home is here, with him.
• The last scene of the movie shows that Ed has built Lorraine an exact replica of the gazebo where they had their first date, right in their own backyard. Lorraine's face says everything.
