Heartwarming / Stray (2022)

  • At the beginning of the game, when you're with your family, it is full of cuteness as you play with your friends, sleep curled up together, and wander the area together.
  • When the cat is mistaken for a Zurk upon arriving in the slums, all the denizens quickly rush for shelter or run away… except the Guardian who ushers some of his people inside a refuge before pulling its door closed and standing to face what he thinks is a threat, ready to put himself in danger to protect the other robots.
    • After that, he determines the cat isn’t a Zurk and instead of being suspicious, crouches down and after a brief moment of assessment, deems them not a threat and says that they’re welcome to stick around. Despite their horrible situation, the robots haven’t become guarded and wary of those not like them.
  • Interacting with other characters will elicit varying reactions. Some robots, when meowed at or rubbed against, will emote with a heart and make noises of adoration.
    • In Mid-Town, a robot is sleeping on a couch on the streetside. If you jump on his chest, you'll curl up and start napping. The robot will briefly panic before emoting a heart and going back to sleep as well.
    • The Mid-Town bartender will adorably greet the cat with “What will it be today, small sir?” Then he will muse on how big their world must seem to the tiny feline, and even say he would like to see the world through the cat’s eyes. It’s a very wholesome interaction.
  • Initially, when you meet Momo, he's very depressed and has given up on his dream to go outside. But if you find all three notebooks (as well as his own), and show them to Momo, he'll regain hope and his demeanor will make a 180 shift as he eagerly helps you with your goal.
  • When you first meet Seamus, he's depressed, defeated, and permanently drunk because his only family left him to explore the outside, and is presumed dead. You can bring his family safely back to him, and see how full of life Seamus is after that.
  • When you bring the music sheets to the robot guitarist, the cat can curl up next to them and take a nap while the musician plays, basically serenading the kitty while they sleep.
  • The cat picking up B-12 after it killed as many Zurks as it could before short-circuiting, giving the cat a chance to escape. The cat could have left B-12 behind to escape but didn’t. The cat refuses to abandon B-12. At least, not until it’s forced to…
  • At the end of the game, when you reach the outside world, the cat takes a few moments to enjoy the sunlight and fresh air after being trapped within the City during the game. It will then look at the camera and slowly blink a few times, basically saying its species' equivalent of "I love you", before going on its way.
