Go To

  • Baby Rudolph's first words including, "San... ta...".
  • After spending most of the first half being humiliated and mistreated, Hermey and Yukon displaying a True Companions bond with Rudolph by sticking loyally by his side.
  • The relationship Mrs. Donner has with her son Rudolph in all versions. His father is also accepting towards him in most versions.
  • Everything involving Rudolph and Clarice in the special is extremely heartfelt and sweet. Particular when the two first meet during the reindeer games. Rudolph and Clarice introduce themselves in an awkwardly shy way with Clarice quickly calming him down after expressing concern for his nose.
  • Clarice calling Rudolph "cute", which not only warms up his heart, it also helped him be able to fly during reindeer practice.
  • In fear of getting made fun of his red nose by Clarice, Rudolph asks if she's going to laugh at his red nose. She answers Rudolph's question by saying his red nose is handsome over the fake one made by Donner.
Rudolph:: Aren't you going to laugh at my nose, too?
Clarice: I think it's a handsome nose. Much better than that silly false one you were wearing.
Rudolph: It's terrible... and it's different from everybody else's!
Clarice: But that's what makes it so grand. Why, any doe would consider herself lucky to be with you.
  • The song "There's Always Tomorrow" that Clarice sings to Rudolph to help lift his spirits up and to comfort him after being ostracized from the other reindeer.
  • One of the major changes in this special that differs from the original story and most adaptations of it is that the other reindeer (and Santa Claus) apologize to Rudolph a while before the storm has become a major issue, and before they knew they'd need Rudolph to help guide the sleigh. The special makes it clear that everyone genuinely feels awful about how they had treated Rudolph.
  • The "Have A Holly Jolly Christmas" music number has a moment where Rudolph gives Clarice a kiss on the cheek under the mistletoe.
  • In the original 1964 airing, Freeform airings and modern home media releases, we see Rudolph's parents and Clarice one last time after Rudolph leaves the North Pole to help Santa on Christmas Eve.
Clarice: He'll be a hero after this.
Mrs. Donner: (shedding tears) Yes, a hero!
    Donner: That's my buck.
  • Rudolph keeping his promise to the Misfit Toys. As the credits roll, we can see an elf delivering the Misfit Toys to the houses of the children of the world.
