  • In a interview that took place 21 years after the game's debut, Karl Hilton and Mark Edmonds, ex-Rare members who were involved with the Goldeneye development team, confirmed that picking Oddjob was technically cheating and that everyone knew it. But they couldn't bring themselves to alter or remove Oddjob as his advantage was "too fun to take out of the game" and instead left it to the people playing the game to make their own rules. They're proud of that decision and think it's fine, especially as it would become a memorable part of the game's culture and folklore and even got a nod in Ready Player One.
