Kazuya and Erikanote

  • The show overall shows the message of Mirroring Factions well enough; just as there are evil, racist humans and Balmians, there are also equal numbers of those who wanted peace and co-existence. After the sinking of the Undersea Castle and then arrest of Miwa, the scene cuts to Kazuya tending to a wounded Baamite, who confessed that they fought against the humans because they were fearing that if they were captured, they'd be tortured to death. Kazuya assured him that it certainly won't happen again, especially when humans that advocate such ideas (like Miwa) have been removed.
  • Margarete standing by Erika no matter what. Even as Richter screamed at her, and even as Raiza demeaned her for falling in love with a human boy, Margarete rebuffed them both and affirmed that her lady was a good woman.
  • Even before that - When Erika was gone, Richter and Raiza spoke badly of her in her absence. Margarete refused to keep silent and chastised them both, critisizing the latter for pinning her own failure on Erika.
  • Balbas, for all his flaws, refused to badmouth Erika even though his compatriots did. He also secretly installed an escape pod in Klein to save Erika. When he found a shivering, lost Erika in Japan, he became concerned for her and helped her walk back to the base. Unlike Raiza, who was endlessly mean to her, Balbas cared about Erika's safety and wellbeing.
  • Everything about Gurney Halleck. He was raised as a violent warrior, yet respected Kazuya because he realized the two weren't so different - Kazuya was just him without the Baam filter. He was willing to get punished by Richter just to vouch for the brave Daimos pilot that showed him his true self. Erika and Margarete also helped Gurney escape from Richter's clutches.
