Heartwarming / Clerks III

• Jay and Silent Bob at first film the argument between Dante and Randal with interest. As it continues and grows more heated, however, they quietly turn their equipment off in a rare moment of respect for Dante and Randal, clearly understanding what they are witnessing is best not recorded.
• Elias was always a pushover, to the point where Randal was able to ignore his cat allergy. When Randal shows the same level of apathy towards Dante's heart attack - after spending the entire movie milking his own for sympathy - Elias finally snaps at him.
• After Dante's funeral, Randal promotes Elias to co-owner, reminding him of the time he said that when Dante's gone, Elias would become Randal's new best friend. Randal meant what he said and thanks to character development, it looks like he's going to treat Elias far better than he treated Dante.
• The film ends with a shot of Jay's daughter Milly (Smith's daughter Harley Quinn Smith) inspecting the expiration dates on some oat milk cartons in the store. This is heartwarming on two levels: Milly is wearing a Quick Stop shirt, revealing she has started working at the store that her father has been hanging around for years; the other is that this scene is a tribute to the "Milk Maid" from Clerks and Clerks II, who was played by Grace Smith, Kevin Smith's mother and thus Harley Quinn Smith's grandmother.
